About the Role:

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and motivated Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team. This is a full-time PAYE position offering job security, consistent work, and the opportunity to take pride in maintaining outdoor spaces to the highest standards.

You will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of grounds maintenance and landscaping tasks across various sites, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out general grounds maintenance duties including:
    Grass cutting, hedge trimming, strimming, and leaf clearance
    Weeding, planting, pruning, and mulching
  • General site tidiness
  • Maintenance of flower beds, shrub borders, and green spaces
  • Operate and maintain machinery such as mowers, strimmers, blowers, and hedge cutters
  • Undertake basic soft landscaping and minor hard landscaping tasks
  • Ensure all equipment is used safely and maintained in good working order
  • Work as part of a team to meet schedules and deadlines
  • Follow health and safety policies and report any site issues or hazards
  • Represent the company professionally when dealing with clients and the publicRequirements:

Essential:

  • Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or horticulture
  • Ability to operate grounds maintenance machinery safely and effectively
  • Good level of physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Valid UK driving licence.

Desirable:

PA1/PA6 pesticide spraying certificates
NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Horticulture, Landscaping, or related discipline
Experience working on commercial or local authority contracts
Basic mechanical knowledge of grounds machinery
