We are seeking a dedicated Gardener / Grounds Person to join our friendly full time team and help us in the maintenance and enhancement of our gardens and grounds under our management. The ideal candidate will possess a good knowledge of horticulture, soft landscaping, and grounds maintenance, ensuring that all outdoor spaces are aesthetically pleasing, healthy, and tidy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Garden Maintenance: Plan, plant, and maintain flower beds, shrubs, trees, and lawns, ensuring seasonal planting and proper care techniques are followed.
  • Landscape Design: Collaborate with management to design and implement landscaping projects, enhancing the beauty and functionality of outdoor spaces.
  • Grounds Management: Oversee all aspects of grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, irrigation, pest control, and seasonal clean-up.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and help train a team of gardeners and grounds staff, delegating tasks and ensuring high standards of work.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of plantings, maintenance schedules, and equipment use.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
    Customer Interaction: Communicate with residents or visitors regarding garden features, maintenance schedules, and address any concerns.

Specification:

  • Ideally have experience as a gardener or groundsman.
  • Good general knowledge of horticultural practices, planting, and grounds maintenance techniques.
  • Can identify plant diseases and pests, with experience in sustainable pest management.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in using gardening machinery equipment and tools.
  • A full valid driver’s license as you will be required to drive company vans.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Benefits:

PAYE Competitive salary based on experience. Range £26k to £32k
